X-10 PLW02 Pro 3-Way Wireless Light Switch With Dimming Slave Switch Included

Description:

Upgrades your existing standard single pole wall switches.

For automation of indoor/outdoor lights including front porch-patio-Hallway-and stairway lights.

Features:

Rated at 500W (incandescent).

Dimmable through X10 controllers.

The 3-Way Wall Dimmer Module is designed to control incandescent loads with a rating of between 40W and

500W. Lamps rated below 40W may flicker or operate erratically. A Companion Switch (PCW03) is provided for

three-way operation. A push-button is located on the Wall Dimmer Module and the Companion, for local on/off

control. A power cutoff switch, located only on the Wall Dimmer Module, directly below the local on/off

pushbutton is provided for bulb changing. Both switches should line up for normal operation.

Note: Wall Dimmer Modules must not be used to control appliances or fluorescent lamps.

Installing the Wall Dimmer Module

• Disconnect power at the circuit breaker.

• Remove switch plates and unscrew existing switches from their boxes. Identify the common wire at each

existing switch (usually connected to a different color terminal).

• Replace one of the existing wall switches with the Wall Dimmer Module: connect the common wire to the blue

wire on the Wall Dimmer Module, and the two remaining traveler wires to the red and black wires on the Wall

Dimmer Module.

• Replace the other existing wall switch with the Companion Switch: connect the common wire to one of the

blue wires on the Companion Switch. Connect the red wire of the Companion Switch to the same color

traveler wire that you connected to the red wire on the Wall Dimmer Module. Connect the remaining traveler

wire from the old switch to the second blue wire on the Companion Switch.

Setting up the Wall Dimmer Module

• Set the House Code dial to the same letter set on the controller or Security Console. The House Code for

monitored security consoles is downloaded by the security installation firm. The default House Code is 'A',

when using the PRO2000.

• For normal lighting control, set the Unit Code dial to an unused code which can be controlled from the

controller or an RF remote such as the Security Remote, PSR01 (switches 1-4 control Unit Codes 1-4).

• To use as the security light, set the Unit Code to the match the Unit Code of the security console. The Unit

Code for monitored security consoles is downloaded by the security installation firm. The default Unit Code

is '13', when using the PRO2000.

Note: The security light is the light which is flashed on/off during an alarm and is controlled by the security LIGHT ON and LIGHT OFF

buttons on the PRO2000 console, keychain and security remotes).

4-Way Applications

• Using the Diagram above, The Wall Dimmer Module will be your master and the Companion in the picture will

be your last switch. Utilizing one more PCW03 Companion Switch as your middle switch, connect the two blue

wires from the middle Companion to the traveler wires carrying the live connection from the Wall dimmer

module to the last Companion. Then connect the red wire from the middle Companion to the traveler wires

carrying the "control" (red wire) from the Wall Dimmer Module to the last Companion. You are simply

connecting in parrallel between the Live and the Control as they pass through the middle box.
