Intellisense FG-1608 Glass Break Detector And Switch
FlexCore™ Signal Processor
The FlexCore Signal Processor is an Application- Specific
Integrated Circuit (ASIC), which processes sound data in parallel rather than
sequentially; for faster, more accurate detection decisions. The combination of
proven FlexGuard® performance with the speed of FlexCore processing provides
unmatched false alarm immunity without compromising detection.
Glassbreak Plus Forced Entry Detection
Glassbreak detection is enhanced by a built-in ValueGap®
magnetic contact to monitor the opening of doors and windows. The result is
double protection from one sensor. Selectable Sensitivity The sensitivity of the
FG-1608 may be set to match the acoustics of the room. Two different sensitivity
levels are available; low or high. The range can then be verified remotely with
the FlexGuard FG-701 Glassbreak Simulator. Mount the Detector Anywhere The
FG-1608 mounts on any wall, in the window frame, or on the ceiling, with no
minimum range and a maximum range of 8’ (2.4 m) to the glass. Covers All Glass
Types
The FG-1608 works on all glass types, including plate, tempered,
laminated, wired, film-coated, and sealed insulating glass.
Multiple Domain Signal Analysis
The FG-1608 performs Multiple Domain Signal Analysis in which
time, frequency and amplitude characteristics are evaluated for signal
qualification. This enables the detector to accurately discriminate false alarms
from true glassbreak events.
Two Sensors in One...
ValueGap® Contact A built-in reed switch and separate actuator
magnet provide forced entry protection in addition to glassbreak detection.
Indicator LED Denotes detection of sound events and alarm condition.
Alarm Memory Alarm LED can be set to latch upon alarm; helps
identify which FG-1608 alarmed in multiple detector applications.
Enclosed PCB
The PCB is protected from potential damage during installation.
Remote Test Mode Enable and Disable
Test mode can be activated remotely with the FG-701 Glassbreak
Simulator. Test Mode Time Out Automatically resets from test mode in five
minutes. Easy Installation and Set-up Mount within 8’ (2.4 m) of the glass to be
protected. there is no minimum range. Select either low or high sensitivity.

Glass Type/Thickness
Minimum size for all types is 11" (28 cm) square. Glass must be
framed in the wall of the room or mounted in a barrier of 36" (0.9 m) minimum
width
1 Protected only if both glass plates are broken.
2 Coated glass with security films, including films for solar protection, up to
12 mil. thick may be used. Film Technologies, Inc.’s GLASS GARD® GLL 1200 has
been evaluated with this product by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. at the
request of IntelliSense.
3 Underwriters Laboratories of Canada has investigated the use of the coating
referred to on note 2 for plate and tempered glass..
Note: The FG-1608 detects the shattering of framed glass by
direct impact. It may not consistently detect breakage by blows that only crack
the glass, by high velocity projectiles such as bullets, or glass broken without
impact.
FG-701 Glassbreak Simulator
The sound of breaking glass is digitally simulated by the
FG-701. The FG-701 is compatible for testing all IntelliSense glassbreak
detectors. IntelliSense highly recommends testing glassbreak detectors during
installation.
